The technology foundation is based on open-source technology and integrates various content management systems with Flash-based media delivery. Designed and developed the first generation of the site, including creating a complete broadcast episode database and video library, in under 60 days to meet station launch date milestone.
Find-a-Therapist, Inc.
CTO / Chief Engineer • 2001-2015
Developed and deployed the technology for a series of sites which serve as one of the largest directories for mental healthcare professionals in the United States. These sites include find-a-therapist.com, treatment-programs.com, and findhealthpros.com. The original technology was LAMP-based but it was 100% recoded in Ruby on Rails.

Led strategic planning and objective definition for the technical aspects of a dot.com enterprise, targeting the pre-teen demographic. Supervised a remote technology center with approximately 12 developers and contractors. Negotiated technology licenses. Completed the development of an innovative portal based on Oracle and Epicentric products on time and within budget.
Motorsport Simulations Inc.
Director of Design and Planning • 1997-1999
Directed a team of software engineers, network specialists, physicists, artists, and 3D modelers to create an online motorcycle racing simulation game. The product, AMA Superbike, was delivered to market within the forecasted duration. During a crisis situation, drafted the complete product manual within 72 hours. Negotiated a license for Marimba technology to provide online game updates. The company was one of the first online entertainment companies to implement “push technology” for updates.
Cisco Systems Inc.
GUI Architect • 1995-1997
Played a leadership role in graphic user interface (GUI) design for the network management business unit. Created and oversaw technical efforts for the “MOJO” (Management Over Java Products) project. Promoted Java technology for network management with field operations. Orchestrated an initiative to develop a uniform look and feel across corporation-wide management applications. Created the first Java-based SNMP layer and router administration console.

Served as GUI architect and senior designer for an innovative document management product. Planned and produced the prototype for an Internet-centric document management system, which was similar to the Apple “Sherlock” product released some years later.

Led all engineering and GUI architecture efforts to develop a new C++-based product. Redesigned and implemented a Motif-based debugger interface for an ADA development environment. Coordinated and supervised engineering in ease-of-use and consistency-of-interface issues.

Created system architecture for the SyncroMedia product line, a cross-platform, network-aware, multimedia applications engine delivering innovative new capabilities. Served as Representative to the Interactive Multimedia Association (IMA).
Sun Microsystems Inc.
Senior Software Consultant • 1988-1990
Directed a 5-person contract team to develop and execute a project to port and optimize the X11/News window system for the Sun-386i. This version was released along with the SPARC and Motorola platforms. Communicated with customers on behalf of the company’s Director of Window Systems.

Held responsibility for the porting of Sun’s NeWs windowing system onto a new 3D graphics workstation project. Successfully integrated windows system user interface elements into the PHIGS+ 3D library.
